When I test a new shop I usually start with one or two items instead of a huge order. For things that I use every day, I prefer to pay a bit more if the quality is stable. Footwear is even harder because different brands cut shoes very differently. Online shops that show detailed measurements and care instructions usually get my attention. Clear product descriptions save time and reduce the chance of disappointment. A good store usually answers questions quickly and does not hide behind canned messages.

Nose pads that are too hard leave marks and feel uncomfortable on the skin. This is why I like reading and posting on forums and community websites. Personally I like a mix of design, comfort and realistic pricing. When every picture has different colors or extreme filters, it is usually a bad sign. I try to look for real photos of the insoles and soles, not only the outside of the shoe. If the first order goes well, I slowly try more products from the same place. I like when a shop clearly shows PD, lens height and bridge width in millimeters.
